The Worosso Festival is a celebration of the first manding settlers of the Gambia River banks from the Great Mali Empire. The settlement was positioned into 7 pillars (sinkirr) of the local communities of the river banks. The festival features the night masquerades ‘Suto Kankurang’ from the 7 local communities.
A celebration of their ancestral lineage from the 7 pillars of Nuimi and re unification to showcase their common heritage.
